G, Trump said during his campaign that he could stand in 5th Ave. [NYC] and shoot somebody and wouldn’t lose votes. He was right.
How do you think he (or anybody else) could have the confidence to make that kind of statement? There’s only one way anyone could confidently make that statement. They would have to know (not guess), that they had managed to tap into an unshakable core of believers. They would have to have zero doubt that no matter what they did, how repulsive, how stupid, how irrational or how dangerous their actions, they would not lose the support of people that believed in him.
Trump’s proposed policies, not Trump himself, is what is costing him support with everyone except his base, that represent less than 25% of the entire population. Trump is desperate for a win of any kind. His problem is what he and his base want, is not what the rest of Americans want.
The divisive campaign that got Trump elected, cannot stand up against what most Americans truly desire. A President with the mental capacity and temperament to lead our country away, not into constant turmoil.
One needs to look no further than Trump’s propensity to instigate petty Tweet insults, to understand he simply cannot lead his own Party, much less our nation.
Poll results are directed by the specific questions targeting a specific demographic. Results vary because the poll survey questions vary.
Considering the economy is doing well, the markets are at an all time high and unemployment is lower than it’s been in a decade, your President’s popularity should be off the charts . The telling message from all the polls, including your favorite, is this President is the most unpopular in modern history. Most Americans reject Trump the man and his policies, both foreign and domestic.
Put simply, Trump has become irrelevant.
