Trump has refused to extend government payments that subsidize co-insurance and co-payments for the low income poor and working class that can’t afford them. This means insurance companies presently in Obamacare exchanges will have to cover them, as required by the ACA.

Which in turn means they will have to recover this loss by raising premiums on the Working and Middle Class insured, or withdraw from the exchange. It won’t affect the upper middle class and wealthy as they already have ancillary medical insurance policies to cover co-pays and co-insurance expense.

Offering ‘Association’ insurance policies ‘across State lines’ won’t protect small businesses from premium increases. Associations can and will charge higher premiums for a small businesses in their Association, having more unhealthy employees requiring and using more health care benefits covered by the Associations Medical Care policy’s.

Do you think voters will blame Congressional Democrats, who are trying to pass emergency legislation to fund the poor, working poor and working class co-pays and co-insurance cost, that will be shifted onto middle class if the majority controlled Republican Congress blocks it’s passage? Or will they blame the Republican controlled Congress and WH for failing to replace Obamacare with universally better, less expensive medical care for the American public?

It was perfectly fine before Obamacare.

No it wasn’t. Not from either a macro or micro perspective. One look at the spiraling medical industry’s percentage our annual national GDP for the past four decades confirms it was anything but ‘perfectly fine’.

The Senate has stripped away the Obamacare mandate. This very good news.

Eliminating the mandate is projected to increase the uninsured rolls by 13 million in 2019 & 27 million by 2024. In the meantime cost will be shifted to the working and middle class who will pay higher premiums.

Any tax benefit the working and middle class get initially, will go away with the premium increases and limited tax subsidy (if those subsidies aren’t further limited or eliminated altogether). They’re likely to be the first thing to go when the dust settles.

Cost shifting is the only way to pay for the high dollar medical care, the uninsured going to emergency rooms receives. Lack of medical care results in increased ER visits and longer hospital confinements. Conditions that could be managed with a visit to the doctors become at minimum complicated, or worse catastrophic.

The fine/tax mandate was my main problem with Obamacare. It's a pyramid scheme.

If you happen to spend Thanksgiving in Plymouth Massachusetts this year, you can choose between two public commemorations. You can watch the official parade, in which townspeople dressed like pilgrims march to Plymouth Rock bearing blunderbusses and beating drums. Or you can stand on the top of Coles Hill with indigenous people and their supporters and fast in observance of what they call a “national day of mourning” in remembrance of the destruction of Indian culture and peoples.
