State Rep Debate 84th & 87th Districts: Results

Postby GFunkMoneyDog » Thu Jun 23, 2016 9:57 am

There will be a debate between the candidates for state representative for the 84th and 87th Districts on September 20th starting at 7pm in the theater at the Harlan Campus of KCTCS. In the interest of having the public engaged more in the process the debate committee is asking for you to message Me or Clark Bailey privately on the Playhouse or on Twitter with your question. (@GFunkMoneyDog) (@Clark73B) Please submit as many as you would like up till July 15th, from that time we're going to take around 10-12 questions and allow the public to vote on four and the top four will be put forth to all candidates at the debate. I'm sure all of you can think of something good to hold all candidates feet to the fire.

Should be interesting. The good debates allow the candidates to address one another.

I hate to ask this but who's who in this debate, and what areas of Harlan will be covered?

84th and 87th Districts encompass all of Harlan County. I don't know how it is drawn but one of those gentleman is your rep if you live in Harlan County.

The 84th is Fitz Steele vs Chris Fugate. 87th is Rick Nelson vs Chad Shannon. Both Fitz and Rick are now serving as Rep. and both are in Evarts. Fitz in North Evarts and Rick in South Evarts.

I have one question and one only, and it's for all of them;

If elected will you agree to serve with no salary..??
I already know the answers, but it should be interesting watching them try and wiggle out of it...
