According to a press release, Harlan County Sheriff’s Sgt. Chris Brewer conducted a traffic stop on Jerry Gilbert and served a warrant on him for second-degree trafficking a controlled substance that was obtained by Deputy Justin Luttrell.
The release states that a strong odor of marijuana was detected coming from Gilbert’s vehicle. Gilbert was arrested by Luttrell.
A search warrant was executed at Gilbert’s residence following his arrest. During the search, deputies recovered nearly 700 pills, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, several Suboxone strips and a large quantity of cash, according to the release.
Brewer and Luttrell were assisted by Det. Danny Lewis, Capt. Miron Southerland and K9 unit Ice.
