Metal Detecting

Postby WildmanLivesOn » Mon May 05, 2014 10:49 pm

This is a hobby of mine and none of my friends are really into it so thought I'd try to get others interested. If you have a detector and would like to go, I have a state survey map from 1916 that list every house in the county. Also I have a spare detector so if you don't and are interested just let me know. I hit a place last weekend and within 1.5 hours I had around 20 wheat pennies 1910-1940's, a 1944 mercury dime, and brass pilot wings offered as a promotion from kool-aid in the late 1930's. This particular field is about 2 acres and would be a great place to jump in and find something right off for the novice or even experienced. PM to schedule a dig!

When you find something do you run and yell like the guys from Diggers on the National Geographic Channel?

To be honest...... I have. It's usually more of just a fist pump rather than a tarzanesque style tree tree swing.

I liked the one where the two dopeheads went somewhere and one climbed into a sub station and extra crispied himself and his dumbass buddy drove him like forty miles back home before he called 911...

Wildman, if I still lived up there, I would go with you... That kind of stuff is very interesting... They say down here in my area, that they are always finding civil war relics...
