Museum

With Harlan county having such great history and stories, why is there no museum? I think that would be a great tourism booster.

I think that's an excellent idea.

Could have a museum of crooks that lists all the dirty dealings from the past. It would be larger than the Smithsonian Institute.

Even I know there is a museum in Benham and in Highsplint. I've been to the one in Benham many times.

Maybe they meant one dedicated to the history, and not coal.

The one in Benham isn't dedicated to just coal. It is dedicated to the history of Harlan County which coal played a major part. I liked the museum every time I went into it.

The one at Highsplint is called The Cloverfork Museum. It was donated by Duane Bennett and has a lot of antique furniture and coal memorabilia in the main house and two buildings. If Pappy hasn't stolen it, they used to have a copper moonshine still.

There should be a museum in Harlan. That is the county seat and more traffic is here. Who goes to Benham or Highsplint?

The county could make a fortune charging to view the Detention Center website.

Pappy looks like Popcorn Sutton. Except Pop was a bit cleaner.

I am aware that there is a museum in benham. I was just saying it should be one in HArlan city. It would be good for tourism and easier for some to visit.

They could have a display of tumbleweeds in there... Harlan city is like Tombstone Junction right after it burned to the ground...
